Unique Gas Extraction and Liquid Concentration

The heart of Hyperion’s custom-engineered treatment technologies is a flexible, low-profile, modular design. Our mass transfer technology can remove 99%+ and can be designed to meet your needs. The number of stages operating is determined by flow rate through the system and removal desired. Computer modeling, developed and engineered through extensive testing and field experience, is used to size an application and predict performance of the operating system. The flexibility becomes clear when site conditions produce variable influent concentrations or flow – just add or turn off stages as required. Flow changes are only limited by the tank’s hydraulic capacity.

Nitrate / Nitrogen Treatment

Hyperion’s patented technology and compact, modular design can handle huge concentration fluctuations by combining three unit operations in a plug flow structure for nitrogen removal:

1) Adsorption media picks up peak flows of nitrates and some additional anions.

2) A facultative bacteria culture fixed on the surface of the media performs a classic biological denitrification.

3) The system functions as a continuous backwashing filter, refreshing the media while at the same time trapping solids. The constant growth during the regeneration process consumes a small amount of ammonia nitrogen as a polishing step for synthesis of new cultures.

The resulting effluent is a steady < 1mg/L of Nitrate, regardless of variations of influent concentrations.
